This approval is part of the state's efforts to accelerate the integration of renewable energy capacities, in response to the increasing demand for electricity, while contributing to reducing dependence on fossil fuels, in line with the approved energy strategy.
El-Khatib explained that between now and 2030, Egypt will add 23 gigawatts of renewable energy, with the exception of 4.8 gigawatts from a nuclear power plant.
